Thank you again for choosing BlockSpaces. This document contains the onboarding flow for both creating your BlockSpaces user account and setting up your Lightning Connect node. Our sales team will walk you through this whole process on a Zoom call, and it should only take 90 minutes or less.

If you have already created a BlockSpaces account for another product, you can skip to the “Lightning Connect Setup” section.

BlockSpaces Account Setup

Step 1

Let’s start with creating your user account with BlockSpaces. Head over to app.blockspaces.com. This is the screen you’ll see each time you log in. Since you don’t have an account yet, click “Create Account” towards the bottom.

You should now be at the sign up page. Fill in your information, create a password, and click “Get Started”

Step 3

Your BlockSpaces account has been created! Next we need to verify your email address.

Step 4

You should have received an email that looks like this. Please click “Verify”

Step 5

Once clicking “Verify”, you should be taken to this page to confirm email verification. Click “Back To Login” and sign into your new account using the credentials you set up earlier.

Step 6

For your security, we require all our users to have Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) set up. Please choose your preferred 2FA application and scan the QR code. You can also copy the key to the right and paste it. If you do not currently have a 2FA application, any service listed on the page should be fine to use. Click “Continue” to move on.

Step 7

Please confirm your 2FA code and click “Complete 2FA Setup”

Step 8

Almost done! Please look over the BlockSpaces Terms of Service. To complete your account setup, click “Accept”

Step 9

Congratulations! Your BlockSpaces account is all set up. Click “Continue”

Note: You should have also received this welcome email confirming your signup

 

Step 10

Let's get started on setting up your payment method & Lightning Connect node. Click “Get Started” to move on

 

Bitcoin Invoicing & Payments Setup

 

Now we’re ready to set up your Lightning node. Before continuing, please sign in to Quickbooks on a separate tab.

Step 1

In your “My Networks” screen, please select Lightning Connect.

 

 

Step 2

If you do not have a payment method on file, you will be brought here where you can select your plan.
If you have a payment method on file already, please skip to Step 5

Step 3

You will now be asked for your billing address one more time

 

Step 4

 

Please input your debit/credit card details for payment

 

Step 5

“Lightning Connect” should now be configurable

Clicking Lightning Connect should bring you to this screen.

Note: Please un-share your screen now so that we don’t have any visibility to your seed phrase 🙂

Click “Get Started” to begin.

Step 7

This next screen displays your seed phrase. It is critical that this phrase is accurately captured & securely stored, as it provides access to your Bitcoin funds to anyone who has it. After capturing your seed phrase, click the “Got It” button to continue.

Important: If your seed phrase is lost and you lose access to your Lightning Connect node, recovery of Bitcoin funds on the node will not be possible. Please handle your seed phrase with extreme care.

Step 8

To confirm your seed phrase, the following screen will ask you to click a few randomly selected words to their correct (original) positions.

Step 9

Once you’ve placed the correct words in their correct places, “A Perfect Match!” should appear on the screen. Go ahead and re-share your screen an click “Continue” to move on.

Step 10

Here, you will be asked to create an 8-character password for your node. This password will be required for transactions. After creating and confirming your password, click “Next”.

Step 11

Your node is now syncing to the Lightning Network and shouldn’t take long to finish.

Step 12

Once you’re here, your Lightning Connect setup is complete! Click “Finish” to exit the setup flow.

Step 13

At this point you will want to make sure you are logged into your Quickbooks account on a separate tab. To integrate with Quickbooks, you’ll navigate over to your “Connections” tab within your Lightning Connect home page and toggle “Quickbooks”.

Please click “Connect Accounts” button in the center of the screen

Inside your Quickbooks account, you’ll be asked to select the company you’d like to integrate with Lightning Connect

Step 16

Once successful, you’ll receive this notification confirming the integration with Quickbooks has been completed.

Step 17

The Point Of Sale feature on your Lightning Connect dashboard needs a default customer to assign the payments to. We recommend the option on the right, which creates a customer named “Lightning Connect” within your Quickbooks application. This way, your Lightning payments will be neatly organized and easy to locate.

If you already have a default customer for these payments in mind, you may choose the “Advanced” option on the left and choose them.

Step 18

Once you see this screen, you are all done! Congratulations! It takes three block confirmations on the Bitcoin network for the node to be active and be able to receive payments.
